The activities in the group are focused on leveraging the multi-scale nature of jets to investigate the emergence of QCD phenomena over a variety of different strong-coupling scales. In particular, the group focuses on measurements of heavy-flavour jets in the charm and beauty sectors. In pp collisions, we investigate parton-flavour effects in the evolution of the heavy-quark shower, as well as targeting a microscopic understanding of hadronisation phenomena. In heavy-ion collisions, we study the properties of the medium through the flavour-dependance of jet-medium interactions. Through this program, we aim to gain a better understanding of the scale-dependence of QCD and to uncover the scale-dependent degrees of freedom of few and many body QCD systems.
