Active in: Upgrade

I did my Bachelor and Master thesis at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and I am currently enrolled in the Doctoral Student program at CERN since late 2023 under the supervision of Fabrizio Grosa (CERN) and Johanna Stachel (Heidelberg).
I am working on the simulation, reconstruction, and alignment of the Inner Tracking System 3 (ITS3), the Run 4 upgrade of ALICE’s innermost tracking system.
ITS3 is a novel detector concept based on 65 nm wafer-scale stitched bent MAPS, allowing for unprecedented DCA resolution at the LHC.
Since this is a new detector concept, new techniques for alignment, especially describing the deviations from the ideal cylindrical shape, have to be developed.
Additionally, I am currently serving as one of the DPG-AOT-Tracks conveners, tasked with ensuring the data quality.
In my free time, I like to play board games, video games, and program.
Recently, I also enjoy doing event displays (below you see the collision of two central Pb-Pb events in the same readout-frame of the ITS2).
