Within the Light Flavors group at CERN, we are focused on the measurement of the production and properties of nuclei and hypernuclei generated in the ultra-relativistic hadronic collisions at the LHC.
Such measurements allow us to investigate the production mechanism of particles, that is still unclear and under intense debate in the scientific community. Moreover, (anti)(hyper)nuclei measurements have important astrophysics applications, specially regarding the modelling of the background in the cosmic ray fluxes of antinuclei, needed in the indirect dark matter searches, as well as the study of the particle interactions needed for the equation of state to describe neutron star observations.
