Hi! My name is Sebastian. I studied physics and got my PhD at the Goethe University in Frankfurt. During this time, I have worked on various topics related to measuring electromagnetic radiation and the relevant backgrounds related to such measurements coming from the decays of heavy mesons.
During my PhD, I also dedicated time to the upgrade of the time projection chamber of our experiment. Here, I helped with the construction of the detector and the replacement of the old parts during long shutdown 2. I was lucky to also contribute to the ALICE 3 project in an early stage with feasibility studies concerning the measurements of electromagnetic radiation.

Switching green sauce and handkäs for raclette and fondue, I joined the ALICE CERN Team in late 2024. During my time here, I will continue the study of the matter created in heavy-ion collisions employing penetrating probes – electromagnetic radiation and heavy-flavour quarks.

In my free time, I prefer to spend time with my friends, cooking or enjoying a loud concert with a circle pit.
