I studied physics at the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany. After conducting some initial research in biophysics at the University of Frankfurt, I joined the Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt in 2005, where I worked on characterising high-rate effects in resistive plate chambers and multi-wire proportional chambers for the CBM experiment. For my doctoral studies, I played a key role in calibrating the ALICE Time Projection Chamber and investigated the production of pions, kaons, and protons during the first proton-proton and Pb-Pb runs at the LHC.

Since 2012, I have been working at CERN, initially as a research fellow before becoming a permanent staff member in 2018. In the beginning, my research has primarily focused on the production of light-flavor hadrons and antinuclei at the LHC and its implications for astroparticle physics. Over the years, I have served the ALICE collaboration in various roles, including physics working group convener and physics coordinator. These experiences have allowed me to develop expertise, expand my knowledge, and deepen my interest in all aspects of the ALICE physics program.
